Q. I am a beginner, where do i start?
A. Start with one of our beginners courses¬†in either classic hatha yoga (billed ‘yoga for beginners’) or Ashtanga Yoga. After completing one of these courses you will be well equipped to join one of our other classes.

Q. I am confused by all these levels, please explain……
A.
Level 0 = absolute beginners (no experience)
Level 1 = beginners (little bit of experience, i.e have completed a beginners course. still beginners level)
Level 2 = minimum 6 months experience
Level 3 = minimum 2 years experience

Q. Can i just come along to one of your ashtanga drop in classes?
A. You need to take one of our ashtanga beginners courses before attending one of our drop in ashtanga classes. If you have done ashtanga before you are welcome to just ‘drop in’

Q. Do i have to book classes in advance?
A. Most classes are drop in. All courses and workshops need to be booked in advance. Members may book drop in classes in advance, or they can just drop in without booking. Non members may just turn up and drop in and pay in the venue.

Q. What do I wear?
A. Just wear something you feel comfortable moving in, and a couple of layers as you will get hot.

Q. What about shoes
A. You will be asked to remove your shoes when you arrive at the venue. No shoes may be worn in the studios or cafe at any time. Shoe racks are provided just inside the door. You may also remove your shoes and carry them to a locker in the changing room.

Q. Can i borrow a mat?
A. We provide mats and other equipment.  But we do recommend buying your own mat if you will be attending regularly. We have a great selection of mats and other yoga equipment available in the venue, or on www.yogiwear.co.uk

Q. I am pregnant can i keep coming to my regular class?
A. If you have practised yoga or pilates for years then there is no reason not to keep attending your regular class, until your pregnancy starts to show then you should move to a pregnancy yoga class. If you are new to yoga, then move straight away to a pregnancy class. Please note that ashtanga and hot yoga are not really suitable for any stage of pregnancy, and you should always inform your teacher that you are pregnant.

Q. I am very unfit/overweight/inflexible, can i still do yoga or pilates?
A. Yes both yoga and pilates for beginners are suitable for everyone. Please inform your teacher if you have any injuries or medical problems.
