‘Deepening the Practice of Yoga’

Course Structure

The Camyoga Yoga Foundation Course takes place over 10 months, one Sunday per month comprising a minimum of 60 contact hours.

Aims

This course provides the opportunity to widen the practical experience of yoga practices, and encourages and supports personal development.

Faculty

The Camyoga Foundation course is taught by Beverley Nolan and Louise Lloyd. Both teachers have been carefully selected for their outstanding knowledge and teaching skill, and for their dedication to students’ learning.

Content

At the end of the course, participants will be able to practice:

  • A range of in-depth asana
  • A variety of pranayama practices
  • Several methods of relaxation
  • Concentration and meditation techniques
  • Sounding and mantra
  • And be able to plan a home practice with personal adaptations.

In addition, participants will learn about:

  • Sanskrit terms
  • The history of modern postural yoga
  • The main paths of Yoga, and popular yoga traditions and teaching styles.
  • The main text of study will be the Yoga Sutras attributed to Patanjali from a variety of translations and commentaries and participants will be expected to have access to at least one translation for personal study.

    Participants will be required to do some reading and to keep a personal journal of their experiences during the course. There is no written coursework.

Prerequisite

Participants will usually have a minimum of 6 months regular class attendance/experience with a suitably qualified yoga teacher. Participants are welcomed from all traditions.

Location

All course dates are run on Sundays, from our dedicated studio in central Cambridge. Please see here for location details.

Completion

Students completing 80% of the course will receive a certificate of completiong. Please note this is not a teaching qualification, but successful completion provides exceptional groundwork for practitioners who do wish to take a professional teaching diploma.

Cost

  • £475, payable by £175 deposit payable on acceptance, plus the remaining £300 payable by Sept 1st 2012.
