CAMYOGA Staff Team

Our head office team

Louise Palmer-Masterton - Founder

Louise came to yoga at the age of 11 in a rainy day games class at school. It was a pivotal moment in her life, and one that has continued to inspire her ever since. Louise is responsible for the CAMYOGA marketing, design and branding. She teaches yoga business modules at CAMYOGA and oversees all aspects of the studios and training school. Louise has a background in radio, TV, film and digital media and ran an arts and multimedia production company for many years before founding CAMYOGA in 2003. As well as teaching yoga, Louise's varied trainings include Transformational Breathing, pregnancy yoga, active birth, doula and BarreConcept. She had the good fortune to spend time with both Frederick Leboyer and Michel Odent who played an influential role in the natural childbirth movement. Louise is fascinated by the mind body connection, and is intrigued by meditation and breath work and their power to change our perceived reality.

Jim Masters - Programme Director

Jim has a background in advertising and promotions, and  before joining CAMYOGA worked in the music business for 25 years. He was a founding director of probably the worlds most successful nightclub, the Ministry of Sound, and ran one of London's most legendary clubs, Ultimate Base, with friend and co DJ Carl Cox. A keen marketeer, Jim transferred his skills dealing with DJ's to dealing with yoga teachers, a step he considers to be logical, with yoga teachers and DJ's being very similar! These days he leads a quieter life by day rather than by night. He is inspired by music and feats of daring, but even more these days by his two daughters.

Serena Saffouri - General Manager

Serena heads up our team at the CAMYOGA studios. Although she was born in Lebanon to a British mother and Lebanese father Serena would describe herself as having a Brazilian heart and soul. She has lived on 4 continents and moved to Cambridge from Brazil in 2007. Her career started in visual communications and migrated to event management in Formula 1. Her greatest passions are her 3 children, scuba diving, travel and photography.  She embraces a challenge and is a stickler for detail. At CAMYOGA she enjoys meeting fabulous people on a daily basis.

Hannah Ellis - Marketing Executive

Hannah was introduced to yoga as a way to improve her mental health following an illness over 6 years ago. Coming from a competitive swimming background and dabbling with Pole Dancing, Aerial Silks (and many other pursuits), Yoga was the only thing that stuck! In 2015 she completed her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training to further her practice beyond asana and pranayama and considers herself first, foremost and always a student.

Our Front of House Team

Amy Watson - front of house

Having lived in Bedford, Bangkok, Barcelona and Bristol, I decided to move onto the letter C, by relocating to Cambridge with my young family.  Through practicing yoga in India, Thailand and Bristol, I feel the benefits of incorporating it into my daily routine, especially since becoming a new mother. I have always loved to travel and learn about new cultures, as well as having a strong interest in history and archaeology, I like nothing more than settling down to read a good book on Neolithic Britain. Now living in Cambridge I was instantly drawn to Camyoga, where I am really enjoying meeting new, interesting people and developing my yoga practice. I hope to teach in the future and look forward to gaining this qualification.

Anna Kochanowska - front of house

Anna likes baking, dancing, trekking (reaching the peaks of Orla Perc, Mount Sinai, Maly Rozsutec and Wielki Rozsutec, Snowdon and more). She has a passion for the extreme having bungee jumped twice, parachute jumped, paragliding and even got married in Red Sea while scuba diving.  Anna appreciates everything in her life and accepts what she is unable to change. Happy in life, happy inside. She loves animals, especially dogs.

Elena Gavriel - front of house

Elena is a professional dancer born and raised in South Cyprus. She moved to England at the age of 18 to study Performing arts at Cambridge Performing Arts - Bodywork Company, where she gained a scholarship. Straight after her graduation Elena moved to London to join the contemporary dance company Chrysalis London. A passionate nature and animal lover who uses the moto “My idol is the best version of myself” to keep her going, she loves learning new skills, travelling, exploring, and sharing moments with people. Yoga was firstly introduced to her in Cyprus and now she feels very grateful for being able to practice all different forms of yoga provided at CAMYOGA. Elena is delighted to be back in Cambridge which loves and extremely excited for being part of the CAMYOGA family.

Jenny Watts - front of house

Jenny graduated from Kingston University, England in 2013 with a dance degree; unsure of what she wanted to do with her career, she started working in Starbucks. A Starbucks customer and hot yoga teacher suggested she try a class in the local studio where he taught. Jenny participated in her first class a year after graduating from University, and fell in love with yoga immediately. She signed up for the introductory offer and attended yoga classes as often as she could. Jenny noticed how yoga was benefitting her life, not just physically but mentally too. In Autumn 2015, 6 months from her first class Jenny trained to become a yoga teacher and she has never looked back. Jenny has completed other teacher trainings with CAMYOGA; now works front of house for CAMYOGA and teaches yoga part time.
